Welcome, to your first day as an Immune System Engineer in the Skin Division of the Aarimous Corpse!!

As an Immune System Engineer it’s your job to fend off the millions if not billions of pathogens, viruses, and bacteria that are trying to kill the almighty Aarimous. Well at least for as long as you can, INEVITABLY you will lose and we will need to replace you…

But for now.. DELAY the INEVITABLE skin breach as long as possible by SATISFYING as many cells as possible. Good Luck and thanks for choosing to work in the Skin Division!

If a cell reaches the top of the screen with open connections you will lose a heart. No Hearts = Game Over. Keep your health topped off by satisfying health cells.

SATISFY: Click and Drag from one cell's NODE (colored circle) to another cell’s NODE. Note: the colors must match (I added shapes for out color blind friends)

Changes: 

Post Jam Patch 2 (4/8/22):

Patch 1 added some much needed QOL changes, but did not rebalance the difficulty curve. This patch was aimed at adjusting the curve so the game still feels like you slowly loose control and will eventually loose.

  • Levels will adjust every 10 score (down from 15). This will be to give a more granular ability to tune the difficulty curve.
  • Hearts will now only spawn ever other level (after level 2). The goal was to make hearts more meaningful to earn.
  • Added the ability to decrease the spawn rate. Goal was to be able to increase  the number of cells will slowly overwhelm the screen and thus the player. This get's set a key breakpoints. 
    • (6 = 1.8, 8 = 1.6, 10 = 1.6, 14 = 1.4, 20 = 1.3, 30 = 1.2, 40 = 1.1, 50 = 1.0)

Post Jam Patch 1 (4/7/22):

The goal of this patch was to smooth out the main mechanic of connecting liked colored cell nodes by making it easier to connect and avoid "dropped connections" that could cost the player the game. 

  • Click, Drag, and Release is now Click, Drag, and Hover. Previously is was difficulty to be accurate when releasing the connection, this was causing an unintendedly difficult user experience.  Using onHover makes the game feel a lot better because the player will only need to hover over the node they want to connect.
  • Increased the hover radius of cell nodes by ~33%. Previously the hover size matched the art, and the user had to have high precision when clicking on the cell nodes. This change was aimed at improving the Zen theme of the game instead of making it feel more like a accuracy game.

Bug Fixes:

  • 4/4/22: Bug Fixed that was caused a null score to happen when turning on and off music
